Happy Birthday TRP! (Part One)

We have a birthday. Oh yes, we do! The Reno Project(s) officially turns a year old today. Wow. What a year it has been! Truly.

Not only have I endured a year of renovations, change and adjustment, I have also joined a community, via the blog world, that I never knew existed. It all has been part of a spectacular year of growth, learning and inspiration! Thank you all who continue to read and inspire me each week.

Wanna see what happened in a year? Okay...I will give you some snap shots of my place to date. Each space still has decorating and reno work to be done...but as you will see...it has come a LONG way from the first post of the house :)

After.
There are oodles of things to still do outside around my house. Being my first season with the garden, I discovered what was planted and where. Come fall, I will move some of the perennials around; the tall ones to the back, and cascade them forward. In addition,  my driveway needs to be paved, the backyard completed, a fence built and some pointing done on the bricks.

This space is still in transition. My mom and I are working on some drapery treatments, and my family's old kitchen table will replace this one. Although I LOVE this table but four seats is just not enough! More to come on the transformation for this room...

Today.
The kitchen renovation is still under way...as you can see on the far window wall...some new paint on the wall. The cabinetry is SO close to being finished. It's functional but is missing the final details to create the "wow" factor. Patience is something I have learned to grow a lot of.

Finally, the living room...and again...this room is also in transition.

This room has had minimal work done to it in terms of purchased items. I have added blinds, drapes and ceiling fixture but for the most part...I owned all of the pieces prior to move in. I had to make it work because I had no budget. Zero! But on my wish list...a new sectional sofa (because the furniture now doesn't fit right) , built ins around the windows with the tv, new paint colour (it's up next on my "to-do" list)...

Stay tuned for the rest of the house in Part Two...
